Gear repair and mechanical service
Inspection, troubleshooting, repair and overhaul of gearboxes, transmissions and rotating equipment – in our workshop, on board or directly at the installation.
Experience with gearboxes, transmissions and demanding machinery
Gear repair is a core part of Nordrep’s daily work. We support shipowners, offshore companies and industrial customers with mechanical assignments where reliability, precision and rapid action are essential.
The scope may range from initial troubleshooting and dismantling to repair, machining, assembly and testing. Every job is planned around the condition of the equipment, available documentation and the customer’s operational requirements.
Nordrep can also assist the manufacturer’s own service engineers and act as a practical partner throughout the repair process.

We review symptoms, drawings, service history and operating conditions and agree how the equipment should be inspected.
2. Repair planning
After dismantling and inspection, the repair, spare parts, machining requirements and practical schedule are agreed.
3. Assembly and handover
The equipment is assembled, checked and handed over in accordance with the agreed work scope and documentation.
